Typhoon Mitag landfall triggers phased railway suspensions in Guangdong

According to meteorological authorities, Typhoon Mitag, the 17th typhoon of the year, has made landfall in Shanwei, Guangdong.

To ensure the safe operation of trains, China Railway Guangzhou Group has adjusted transport schedules based on the typhoon's impact, implementing phased suspensions on multiple railway lines.

Service update as of 12:00 on September 19:

September 20, 00:00–06:00: Partial suspension on the Beijing–Kowloon Railway.

September 20, 02:00–08:00: Partial suspension on the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway.

September 20, 06:00–07:30: Full suspension of all trains on the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Intercity Railway.

September 20, 08:00–14:00: Partial suspension on the Guangzhou–Maoming Railway.

September 20: Partial suspension of services on the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong high-speed railways and Nanning–Guizhou–Guangzhou high-speed railways.

Passengers who receive suspension notifications via SMS or the 12306 website (or app) can apply for a full refund within 30 days (including the day of departure)  via the 12306 or at railway station ticket counters. No refund fees will be charged for train suspensions.
