Zhuhai Station of the Guangzhou–Zhuhai Intercity Railway officially launched pet consignment services from January 28 onward. Pets will be placed in transport crates and carried in a separate express cargo compartment on the train, with staff monitoring them throughout the journey. After transportation, all related equipment will undergo thorough cleaning and disinfection.

To facilitate pet transport for passengers, Zhuhai Station offers both online and offline reservation channels. Passengers who have already purchased tickets can select the pet consignment service via the 12306 app, check eligible train services, and make a reservation. The system will provide feedback within two hours.
Passengers without a ticket can make a reservation by calling the 95572 hotline 2 to 5 days in advance.

After making a reservation, passengers transporting pets must bring valid identification, the Animal Quarantine Conformity Certificate, and the pet to the China Railway Express office at the station to complete transport procedures on the day of travel, 2 to 6 hours before departure.
The newly launched service accepts only healthy cats and dogs, with each pet weighing ≤15 kg and having a shoulder height ≤40 cm. Passengers with tickets can transport up to 2 pets, while non-ticketed passengers can transport only 1 pet. Aggressive dogs and other prohibited breeds are not allowed.
During the initial launch period, the pet transport service is available at a 30% discount. Each order comes with basic insurance coverage of 2,000 yuan, and fees are calculated according to distance tiers.
