The high-speed rail network at Shantou Station will undergo a substantial expansion starting January 26, with a scheduled operation of 200 daily trains, hitting a new record high in train frequency.

With the introduction of new train services to Longyan, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Kunming, Nanning, and other destinations, Shantou has transformed into a comprehensive transportation hub connecting East China, directly linking to Southwest China, and providing access in multiple directions.
The specific changes in this schedule adjustment are as follows:
Newly added 24 pairs of EMU trains (23 regular lines, 1 peak line):
- Fuzhou South–Guangzhou Xintang G3771/2: 1 pair
- Shantou–Zhanjiang North G5132/5, G5140/33, G5138/1: 3 pairs
- Guangzhou South–Shantou G6321/4/1, G6322/3/2: 1 pair
- Shantou–Hong Kong West Kowloon G6397/8: 1 pair
- Shenzhen North–Shantou D7428/5, D7426/7: 1 pair

Adjusted operation sections: 32 pairs:
- Shantou–Zhanjiang West G6084/1, G6086/7 adjusted to Shantou–Zhanjiang North, train numbers changed to G5137/4
- Zhanjiang West–Shantou G6082/3 adjusted to Zhanjiang North–Shantou, train number changed to G5136
- Multiple trains, including Shantou South–Shenzhen G6407/80, adjusted to start/terminate at Shantou
- Guangzhou–Shantou D7116/3, D7170/1, etc., adjusted to Guangzhou East–Shantou with synchronized name changes
Adjusted start/termination stations: 0.5 pair:
- Shantou–Guangzhou D7122/3 adjusted to terminate at Guangzhou East
Other adjustments: 0.5 pair:
- Shenzhen North–Shantou G8416/3 train number changed to G8486/3
This train operation adjustment involves multiple aspects, including the addition of trains, optimization of operation sections, and changes in stopover stations at Shantou Station, with a relatively large adjustment scale.
