Zhuhai Jinwan Airport has strengthened its air cargo network in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new all-cargo route connecting Zhuhai and Manila. Operated by Central Airlines, the new service began on July 18 with a Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft and will run five times a week. The route mainly transports cross-border e-commerce goods, marking the airline's first cargo operation at the airport.
The new link brings the total number of weekly cargo flights between Zhuhai and the Philippines to 19. Together with the existing Zhuhai-Clark service, which operates 14 flights per week, the expanded network now connects two major logistics hubs in the Philippines and provides more options for businesses shipping goods between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia.
The airport plans to expand its international cargo network. It is expected to increase its Zhuhai-Delhi freight service from six to seven flights per week, and to explore new routes to Southeast Asian destinations such as Bangkok.
The airport is also aiming to raise its scheduled international cargo flights to more than 30 per week by the end of 2026, to build a four-hour air logistics network linking Zhuhai with Southeast Asia.
The expansion comes as Chinese airports continue to increase dedicated cargo routes serving Southeast Asia, driven by rising demand from cross-border e-commerce and manufacturing supply chains.
