During the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush (Feb 2–Mar 13), Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport experienced a 26.4% year-on-year surge in passenger throughput, ranking first in growth rate among all airports in the Ten Million Club.

During the travel rush, the airport served 1.754 million passengers (33rd nationally) and 12,586 flights (32nd nationally), with flight movements increasing by 18.1% year on year (2nd nationally). Daily averages reached 43,800 passengers and 315 flights, peaking at 52,000 passengers and 346 flights—setting new records for both traffic and flight volume since the airport's opening. The average load factor was 89.6% (highest in the Ten Million Club), reaching 97% at its peak. Over the past three Spring Festival travel rushes, passenger flow has steadily climbed, rising from 1.187 million to 1.754 million.

This growth was driven by Chaoshan's cultural tourism boom, featuring events like temple fairs and fireworks galas. To meet travel demand, the airport collaborated with 19 airlines to add 67 routes and introduce Tangshan as a new destination. Service upgrades included late-passenger lanes and mobile check-in.
