Russian carrier S7 Airlines will resume direct flights between Guangzhou and Novosibirsk, Russia's largest city in Siberia and a major scientific, industrial and business center in the region, from December 21, reconnecting the two cities for the first time since the route was suspended in 2019.
The airline plans to operate two flights a week under flight numbers S7 5743 and S7 5744, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The outbound flights will depart from Novosibirsk on Mondays and Thursdays, with return services from Guangzhou operating on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The route will become S7 Airlines' third air link to Guangzhou, following its existing service to Irkutsk and a new route to Vladivostok, which is scheduled to be launched in late October.
The addition of Novosibirsk will bring the number of Russian destinations served by direct flights from Guangzhou to five, alongside Moscow, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok.
