New train timetable takes effect on October 11, Foshan Station to serve 115 trains

China Railway Guangzhou Group introduced a new passenger train timetable from midnight on October 11, adding services and improving rail connections across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Foshan Station will see a significant increase in services, with the number of trains stopping there rising to 115. New direct services will connect Foshan with Wuhan, Shanghai South, Beijing West, Yongzhou and Jishou East.

To meet demand for early-morning travel from Yangjiang and Jiangmen, the new timetable adds early departures to Guangzhou South before 8 a.m. It also increases services from Zhaoqing East towards the western Guangdong cities of Maoming and Zhanjiang during the morning peak.

Four direct, limited-stop services between Guangzhou South and Zhanjiang West will resume. The fastest journey between the two stations will take two hours and 36 minutes, shortening travel time.

The timetable also improves connections between eastern and western Guangdong. Two additional high-speed train services will run between Chaoshan and Zhanjiang North, while six more will connect Chaoshan (Shantou) with Meizhou West.

Other changes include extending the routes of several trains and revising some train numbers to expand rail coverage. Freight services will also be adjusted, with 205 scheduled trains operating under the new timetable.

Passengers can check train schedules and buy tickets through the official China Railway 12306 app and website, or consult notices issued by local railway authorities and major stations.
