China Southern Airlines will open a new three-city international passenger service linking Guangzhou, Urumqi, and Frankfurt from June 1, expanding its China-Europe network.
The new service will use Boeing 787-9 wide-body aircraft twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays. The outbound CZ6041 flight will depart Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 08:10, arriving at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport at 13:10 before continuing at 15:15 to Germany. The flight is scheduled to land at Frankfurt Airport at 17:20. The return CZ6042 service will depart Frankfurt at 19:20 local time and arrive in Urumqi at 08:45 Beijing time the following day. The flight then departs Urumqi at 10:45 and reaches Guangzhou at 16:00 (all listed times are local). Following the launch, the airline's European network will expand to 24 routes with more than 100 weekly round-trip flights.
Frankfurt, one of Europe's major financial and transport hubs, is positioned as both a business gateway and a leisure destination, with onward rail and air connections across Germany and the rest of Europe.
