The Dazhou Bridge, a key infrastructure project in Yangxi County's Zhilong Town, Yangjiang, is set to open to traffic this December, promising to enhance local connectivity and unlock tourism potential along the coastal region.

Spanning 733 meters across the Zhilong River, the steel-structure bridge links previously fragmented areas, significantly reducing travel time for residents of surrounding villages like Dazhou Village. "The bridge has halved our commute to the county town for work and school runs, making travel much more convenient," shared a local villager.

More than just a transit route, the bridge is designed as a scenic corridor, integrating transport with tourism. It offers stunning views of lush mangrove forests on one side and the open estuary on the other, already attracting cyclists and pedestrians for leisurely visits despite not being officially open. "The ride is smooth, the air is fresh, and enjoying the scenery before exploring ancient villages is perfect," remarked one cyclist.
The bridge serves as a vital link within the "oyster village" demonstration zone, connecting several cultural and scenic spots. It seamlessly connects ancient villages like Dazhou Ancient Village, the popular "check-in" site Jinalang Village, and other attractions, creating a cohesive tourism circuit.

This improved accessibility is already generating positive impacts. "Since the trial operation began, we've seen a noticeable increase in visitor numbers, and tourism is visibly picking up," said Zhang Xiaoyan, First Party Secretary of Daquan Village.
With an investment of 54.53 million yuan, the two-lane bridge is currently undergoing final touches, including guardrail adjustments and road markings. Its completion marks a critical step in Zhilong Town's broader plan to develop an integrated agricultural, cultural, and tourism demonstration area.

As a much-anticipated infrastructure project, the Dazhou Bridge is poised to bridge not only physical gaps but also foster urban-rural integration, painting a promising picture of rural revitalization for Zhilong Town.
