Yunfu welcomes bountiful eagle-beak peach harvest

The 6.7-hectare orchard of Fenglaiyuan Eagle-Beak Peach Planting Specialized Farmers' Cooperative in Jilin Village, Tongmen Town, Yunan County, Yunfu City (云浮市郁南县通门镇鸡林村) is now in peak harvest season. Hillsides are dotted with ripe eagle-beak peaches, their vibrant color and sweet fragrance signaling another abundant season. Farmers are busy picking, sorting, and packing the fruit for the market.

The peach-growing area has followed standardized cultivation practices for seven to eight years, with this year marking its fifth season of commercial production. Favorable weather conditions in 2026, including well-timed rainfall and ample sunshine, have produced peaches with thin skins, tender flesh, and a juicy texture. The orchard's total yield is expected to exceed 50 metric tons this year. Depending on quality, prices range from 14 yuan to more than 40 yuan per kilogram. Visitors can also enjoy pick-your-own experiences, with the harvest season lasting from mid-June to late July.

Years of refined cultivation practices have helped ensure both quality and yield. The cooperative grows a variety well-suited to local conditions, known for stable production as well as strong disease and drought resistance. The orchard follows eco-friendly growing methods, with no ripening agents used. The result is peaches that are sweet, flavorful, and popular with consumers.
