Chunsharen (春砂仁), a premium regional variety of Amomum villosum produced in Yangchun, a county-level city in Yangjiang, is a prized traditional southern Chinese medicinal herb known for its distinctive aroma and quality. The city has introduced a Chunsharen medicinal food banquet, which has become a popular cultural dining experience for visitors.

With more than 1,300 years of cultivation history, Chunsharen has long been valued in traditional diets for aiding digestion, stimulating appetite and dispelling dampness. In summer, it is often used in cooking to reduce greasiness and enhance flavor.

The banquet features eight signature dishes, including fish, pork offal, beef, lamb, goose, pork ribs and soups, all prepared with Chunsharen to add aroma and balance richness. Blending medicinal tradition with culinary creativity, the Chunsharen banquet offers a distinctive taste of Yangchun's seasonal flavors and herbal heritage.
