This is Yunan County, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province—known as China's hometown of seedless wampee. Unlike ordinary wampees, the seedless wampee is larger and sweeter, and is also a geographical indication (GI) product in China.
The tasty seedless wampee, a unique Lingnan flavor, is the key to the county's economic rise. Yunan's seedless wampee planting area accounts for nearly three-quarters of the world's total, generating an industrial output value of over 8 billion yuan. In 2025, the total planting area in the county reached 197,000 mu (approx. 32,500 acres), which has developed a full industrial chain integrating cultivation, processing, and tourism.
