A 20-hectare golden passion fruit plantation in Shuibei Village, Daba Town, Heping County, Heyuan City, has entered its peak harvest season, with this year's output expected to exceed 500,000 kilograms. Most of the fresh fruit is sold to markets across the Pearl River Delta.
Rows of trellises stretch across the plantation, with golden passion fruits hanging densely from the vines. Workers move between the rows, picking ripe fruit and sending it to a nearby sorting center, where it is graded and packaged for delivery.
The harvest season runs through December, when temperatures begin to fall. With production now at its peak, orders have outpaced supply.
In recent years, Shuibei Village has developed specialty fruit and vegetable farming suited to local conditions. The golden passion fruit industry has created jobs for local villagers, boosted household incomes, and contributed to the village's rural revitalization efforts.
