The city of Guyuan promoted its Liupan Mountain beef and other local specialties in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Friday, seeking to expand its presence in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area market.
The promotional event was held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex on the sidelines of the 2026 SIAL China (Guangzhou) and Guangzhou International Food Ingredients Exhibition.

Twenty-five companies from the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, where Guyuan resides, showcased products ranging from chilled fresh-cut beef and processed beef products to cultural and creative souvenirs featuring elements of the Liupan Mountains.
A cooking area was also set up at the event, serving freshly prepared steak, beef balls, and Jingyuan-style crispy beef pies. Organizers said the event generated multiple bulk-order intentions.

Guyuan has developed beef cattle farming into a major local industry supported by the ecological conditions of the Liupan Mountain area, according to the local authorities.
The city's beef cattle population has remained above 1.15 million, while the output value of its beef cattle industrial chain has exceeded 28 billion yuan ($4.17 billion). Its beef products are now sold in a number of major cities across China, data from the city showed.

Guyuan has also developed a national-level Liupan Mountain beef cattle industrial cluster, covering breeding, processing, and sales.
