The fruit has also drawn attention for its nutritional profile. Hylocereus megalanthus is relatively rich in anthocyanins, which help supporting digestion and stomach health, promoting bowel movements, and prevent anaemia.

So what does Hylocereus megalanthus taste like? Cut open a freshly picked fruit and the skin opens to show white, slightly see-through flesh dotted with tiny black seeds. The flesh is smooth and soft, with fine fibers. It tastes gently sweet and has a light, creamy scent. When you take a bite, it almost melts in your mouth, with a soft, jelly-like texture similar to cubilose.
