Iran's Mahan Air has announced a phased resumption of passenger flights between Iran and China, with renewed services to Guangzhou as a key part of its network recovery.

Starting April 26, the carrier plans to operate three weekly return flights between Tehran and Guangzhou and between Tehran and Beijing, alongside four weekly services between Tehran and Shanghai. The schedule is set to run until May 25, with further adjustments subject to official updates.

Passenger flights had been suspended since late February, when Iran closed its airspace amid regional tensions. The closure disrupted international aviation across the Middle East, affecting major transit hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

Elsewhere in the region, several countries that had imposed airspace restrictions, including Iraq, Syria and Bahrain, have started to reopen their skies. Kuwait remains the only state still fully closed to air traffic.
