From December 5 to 7, Liannan Yao Autonomous County in Qingyuan will host its 15th "King Pan Festival · Song and Dance Hall," a cultural festival that honors the Yao ancestor King Pan, celebrates the harvest, and strengthens ethnic unity.
Under the theme "Listen to Yao Melodies, Explore Ecological Liannan," the three-day event offers a packed schedule of entertainment, food, and activities—all outlined in this guide.
2025 Liannan "King Pan Festival · Song and Dance Hall" Event Guide
1. "High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns and Villages" Parade
Time: Dec 5, 15:00-17:30
Location: Main streets, Liannan
A parade featuring 14 themed floats and 16 performance groups—including intangible heritage teams and Chimelong Forest Kingdom—showcasing local achievements under the Project. The 3km route starts and ends at Liannan Shunde Cultural Square, with interactive stops where performers will distribute traditional Yao souvenirs.
2. Themed Gala Night
Time: Dec 5, 19:30-21:30
Location: Liannan Shunde Cultural Square（连南顺德文化广场）
Performances from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Qingyuan Chimelong, including local renditions of the "Yao Dance Suite," and a drone show finale.
3. King Pan Festival·Song and Dance Hall & Original Long-Drum Dance
Time: Dec 6, 09:00-12:00
Location: Pangu King Cultural Park to Liannan Shunde Cultural Square（连南盘古王文化园至连南顺德文化广场）
Local performers will showcase national intangible cultural heritage.
4. Yao Mountain Bonfire Night
Time: Dec 3-7, 19:30-20:30
Location: Nangang Thousand-Year Yao Village, etc. (large bonfire event on Dec 6) （南岗千年瑶寨景区等）
Cultural performances around the bonfire, with interactive bamboo pole dances and hand-in-hand dances for visitors to join.
5. Youling Village Original Song and Dance Hall
Time: Dec 7, 9:00-12:30
Location: Youling Village Getang Ping, Sanpai Town（三排镇油岭村歌堂坪）
Traditional Yao "Song and Dance Hall" performances, including the ancient "Crossing the Nine Regions" ritual and folk dances. 
6. Niulushui Village Original Song and Dance Hall
Time: Dec 7, 8:00-21:00
Location: Niulushui Village, Daping Town (大坪镇牛路水村)
Full-day traditional Yao "Song and Dance Hall" performances, including the ancient "Crossing the Nine Regions" ritual and folk dances, along with cultural exhibitions and bonfire festivities.
7. Yao BA Basketball Tournament
Time: Opening ceremony: Dec 6, 15:00; Games: Dec 13, 2025-Jan 24, 2026 (Saturdays & Sundays)
Location: Liannan National Stadium（连南民族体育馆） (opening, closing & finals); Dunlong Yao Village Court in Sanpai Town（三排镇墩龙瑶寨篮球场） (preliminary rounds)
A vibrant basketball tournament set against the backdrop of Yao cultural celebrations.
8. Yao Art Exhibition
Time: Nov 17-Dec 1 (Shenzhen); Dec 5-30 (Liannan)
Location: Futian Art Museum (Shenzhen)（深圳福田美术馆）; Guangdong Yao Museum (Liannan)（广东瑶族博物馆）
100 artworks depicting Yao daily life, traditional costumes, and architecture are on display.
9. Intangible Heritage, Food & Crafts Fair
Time: Dec 1-7, 9:00-22:00
Location: Liannan Shiquan Park（连南石泉公园）
A market showcasing Yao intangible heritage, local foods, specialties, and crafts. Visitors can experience Yao wedding customs, long-drum dancing, embroidery, silver jewelry, and traditional medicine.
10. Litsea Cubeba & Yao Medicine Industry Summit
Time: Dec 5, 8:30-16:00
Location: Liannan Workers' Cultural Palace（连南瑶族自治县工人文化宫）
Promoting the litsea cubeba and Yao medicine industries.
