Shantou will illuminate the night sky with a grand Chinese New Year fireworks show at 8:00 pm on February 18, 2026, the second day of the Chinese New Year. Held over the city's inner bay, the event marks the fourth consecutive year of this iconic festive fireworks presentation.

The 30-minute fireworks display will feature a 1.2-kilometer firing line, around 110,000 fireworks, large-scale drone formations, and premium special-effect fireworks, offering a stunning visual feast for both locals and tourists.

The show will unfold in five themed sections, beginning with drone formations depicting auspicious horse patterns. Fireworks, drones, and laser effects will weave together to showcase Shantou's history as a trading port, its pioneering spirit as a special economic zone, and the city's growing vibrancy. Blue-toned fireworks will create a romantic nighttime cityscape, while the finale will send festive Chinese New Year wishes across the sky.

Following the successful format of previous editions, nine vessels will be aligned across the waters off Zhuchi Port Wharf (珠池港码头), forming an optimized firing array that offers better viewing angles and a panoramic vista where the sky, sea, and city merge seamlessly.
