The 2025 International Bruce Lee Fans Convention kicked off on Thursday in Shunde district of Foshan, Guangdong province.
For the first time, the three-day event includes a kung fu workshop. The event combines Shunde kung fu and local cuisines for a unique Foshan celebration.
Alongside the workshop will be the Mars Martial Championship, China's top combat sports tournament.
"Driven by the events, the convention will showcase kung fu aesthetics and promote the full-chain upgrading of Shunde's cultural and tourism industry through the 'Kung fu + Cuisine + Tourism' model," organizers said.
The events also include an international academic forum, a martial arts and music night, and Shunde-themed kung fu tours.

Zeng Futian, who is in charge of the Bruce Lee Paradise project, said events like this are part of the Shunde district government's efforts to integrate culture, urban construction, and economy. He added that this convention in particular is an important measure for meeting the expectations of Lee's fans and building a kung fu city by leveraging Bruce Lee's name and brand.
Born in San Francisco, the United States, Bruce Lee's ancestry traces back to Shunde's Jun'an township. He became a world-renowned kung fu superstar, celebrated for his distinctive martial arts Jeet Kune Do.
