During the Chinese New Year holiday, Guangzhou has planned more than 2,000 cultural and tourism events, organized into four dynamic sections: signature events, scenic spots, artistic performances, and cultural and museum exhibitions. Together, these celebrations offer residents and visitors a festive cultural extravaganza that blends cultural heritage with joyful celebration.

2026 Lingnan Lion Dance Folk Culture Festival in Baomo Garden

This year, the Acrobatic Lion Dance amidst a Picturesque Landscape, the highlight at Baomo Garden, will be staged twice on the Lijing Lake Water Stage every day. Colorful lion dancers, accompanied by the comical and charming Big-Headed Buddha and the God of Wealth, will kick off the festivities in a joyful atmosphere.

Horse-themed exhibit zone opens at Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park

The new horse-themed exhibit zone has officially opened at Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park, concurrently launching the themed activities of "Fortune Plus Horse" during the Spring Festival. Visitors can feed the horses themselves, and enjoy horse riding. The new Knight Theater will feature daily high-quality equestrian performances.

Location: Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park (广州长隆野生动物世界)

Transportation:

Metro: Take Line 3 or 7 to the Hanxi Changlong Station (汉溪长隆站) and use exit D or E. Then, transfer to the free shuttle bus within Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort.

Bus: Take routes 562 or 304 to the Chimelong Tourist Resort Bus Terminal (长隆旅游度假区总站). Free shuttle buses within the resort are available to the theme parks or affiliated hotels.

Dreaming Back to Lingnan: large-scale Chinese-style live show at Guangzhou Sunac Land

During the Spring Festival, from the first to the seventh day of the Chinese New Year (February 17-23), Guangzhou Sunac Land will host over 80 daily performances, offering fun from morning till night. The lineup includes the intangible cultural heritage performance of lion dances, national-style parades, classic children's plays, and dazzling fireworks shows.

Location: Guangzhou Sunac Land (广州融创乐园)

Transportation: Take the Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway to Huachengjie Railway Station (花城街站).

Yuyin Shanfang

With its long-standing tradition of enjoying chrysanthemums during the Spring Festival, Yuyin Shanfang will feature a collection of exquisite chrysanthemums. This includes nearly 70 rare varieties, such as Fengye Yinqiu, Danzhuang Chuilu, Quanxiang Fali, Quanxiang Chongtian, Fire Phoenix, Tricolor Chrysanthemum, and Colorful Pingpong Chrysanthemum.

Location: Yuyin Shanfang (余荫山房)

Exhibition period: February 15 – March 3 (December 28 to January 15 in the lunar calendar)

Ticket: From February 15 to 23 (December 28 to January 7 in the lunar calendar), visitors purchasing a single full-price ticket to Yuyin Shanfang can enjoy a 20% discount (14 yuan/person).

Guangzhou Ocean World: Gods of Wealth take stage above and below water

Guangzhou Ocean World has organized over 30 special performances themed "Come to Guangzhou Ocean World and usher in good fortune." The Gods of Wealth will take the stage above and below water to make a stunning appearance. 

The Happy God of Wealth, the Flower-Adorned God of Wealth, and the Underwater God of Wealth will all gather to offer New Year blessings. From the first to the seventh day of the Chinese New Year, there will be lucky draws with gold prizes. The sea lion family will unite on stage for the first time to extend good wishes.

Ticket: Exclusive tickets for the Year of the Horse Zodiac are only 79 yuan (originally 160 yuan). Combo tickets for the Guangzhou Zoo, as well as discounted couple tickets and group tickets for three, are available.
