The 16th Foshan (Chancheng) Lingnan Folk Culture Festival officially opened on January 21, featuring nearly 100 cultural, tourism, and commerce activities that blend traditional heritage with modern flair.

Aimed at building a "super folk customs IP," this year's festival features around 100 curated cultural, tourism, and commerce activities that blend traditional heritage with modern appeal.
During the Lantern Festival, the centuries-old "Crossing Tongji Bridge" event will continue, alongside modern offerings such as stand-up comedy shows and concerts. Festivalgoers can also enjoy a range of benefits, including consumption vouchers jointly issued by Chancheng and Alipay, as well as free admission to district museums.

Another highlight of the festival is leveraging the newly opened Guangzhou–Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway to tap into a "1.5-hour living circle" and strengthen regional cultural and tourism synergy.
The railway has significantly shortened travel time between western Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta, making cross-regional travel more convenient for visitors.
As the festival's host, Foshan's Chancheng District spearheaded the signing of the Travel Along the High-Speed Railway–Regional Cultural and Tourism Synergy Development Community agreement with districts and cities including Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, Zhanjiang, Maoming, Yangjiang, and Yunfu. The partners will jointly develop premium travel routes, share people-benefiting policies, and co-host festival events, integrating Lingnan folk customs, coastal culture, and eco-health tourism along the corridor.
