A sweet CNY: Ecuadorian student tries making Chaoshan red peach cake

The red peach cake (hongtaoguo) is a traditional delicacy from the Chaoshan region in eastern Guangdong, easily recognized by its vibrant red color and peach-like shape. It is typically enjoyed during Chinese New Year and other festive occasions as a symbol of luck and longevity.

During the Chinese New Year, Montgomery Berrones, an Ecuadorian student at Jinan University, visited a local grandmother to experience making this authentic Chaoshan-style treat firsthand.
