Maoming student uses technological innovation to aid special groups

Recently, at the 26th National Student Digital Literacy Enhancement Practice Activity, Chen Chenghao, an eighth-grade student from Maoming Chunxiao Middle School, earned the "Innovation Star" title in the junior high school division's Creative Intelligence category. His winning project, titled "An AI Vision-Based Guide Dog," stood out among the winners, making him the sole recipient from Maoming city in Guangdong province.

Chen has been passionate about technology since childhood, beginning his journey with robotics programming in fourth grade. He has since mastered skills in Python and C++ and become proficient with maker tools, 3D printing, and other technologies for solving problems. He believes that "technology shouldn't be cold, but should carry warmth." His projects focus on assisting the visually impaired and facilitating community idle-item exchange.

In his view, true innovation is not just about technological achievement but about addressing genuine needs and spreading warmth. Looking forward, Chen Chenghao aims to continue dedicating himself to using technological innovation to aid special needs groups and improve community life, striving to create innovations that are both convenient and compassionate.
