Shantou Overseas Middle School and Yat Sen Secondary School forge sister-school ties

Guangdong's Shantou Overseas Middle School formally established a sister-school ties with Fiji's Yat Sen Secondary School during an online signing ceremony on October 31.

Founded in 1932, Shantou Overseas Middle School is China's earliest public overseas middle school and has established sister-school relationships with 14 Chinese-language education institutions in 12 countries.

Yat Sen Secondary School was founded by Fiji's Chinese community in the 1930s. Since this school fosters talent for multicultural development, it was awarded the title of "Overseas Chinese Education Model School" by the Overseas Chinese Affairs of the State Council in 2018.

Warren Yee, Chairman of the School Board at Yat Sen Secondary School, expressed his hope that Fijian students would gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, embrace a brighter future through learning Chinese, and become ambassadors of friendship between China and Fiji.
