Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau to launch free internationally certified nursing courses in Hengqin

Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) will officially establish a presence in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin in June, bringing Macao's internationally standardised elderly care training system to Hengqin to support more professional, precise, and human-centred elderly care services.

This marks a new phase in livelihood and healthcare integration between Hengqin and Macao. It is also a key step in building a coordinated, professional, and international talent training system for nursing and healthcare services across the two regions.

KWNC's first free course, focusing on brain health and dementia literacy, is certified by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) and will be open to the public from June 16 to 30. Eligible participants will be awarded official certification upon completion.

The college will also launch a series of advanced certified programmes, covering assessment and intervention for seniors' language disorders, dementia care management, and advanced elderly care training, and a cross-certified training programme for senior aged-care practitioners covering the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao via unified examinations.

Registration details will be released via official WeChat accounts such as "Hengqin Online" (横琴在线).

Moving forward, the Cooperation Zone will deepen collaboration between Macao's higher education institutions and medical organisations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), support Macao's healthcare professionals to study and work in the GBA, and further advance alignment in public services between Hengqin and Macao.
