Hengqin starts construction on new junior high school

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 27 for a new junior high school in the International Residential Zone of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

The school will accommodate 30 classes and provide 1,500 student places upon completion. Its construction is expected to be completed by June 2027, with the classes scheduled to begin in September 2027.

Located east of Tianyu Avenue, south of Songqin West Street, west of Qianning Avenue, and north of Huandao North Road, the project covers approximately 29,500.82 square meters, with a total floor area of about 43,159 square meters. The total investment is estimated at 330 million yuan.

The campus design incorporates the site's natural terrain and surrounding environment, while emphasizing sustainability and efficient use of space. Smart management and modular spaces will enable the integration of teaching, research, and daily activities.

The campus will include a range of shared activity spaces, with facilities including classrooms and support facilities, teacher offices, an indoor basketball court, a swimming pool, teacher dormitories, and an underground and drop-off area.
