A college student in Maoming City, Guangdong Province, has been commended for helping a lost 3-year-old boy find his family last month.
The grateful parents and their child thank university student He Baijun for his heroic act.
He Baijun, a 20-year-old freshman at Guangdong Preschool Normal College, was delivering food as a summer job when he spotted the distressed child wandering alone on a busy road in Maoming's Huazhou on July 27. Recognizing the danger, He immediately stopped to assist the boy, who was wearing an Ultraman T-shirt and crying for his parents.
After failing to locate the parents nearby, He Baijun safely took the child to a local police station without leaving his name. Authorities later identified He Baijun through extensive searches and organized a special reunion between him and the grateful family.

On August 3, Huazhou police officials delivered commendation letters to He Baijun's university and hometown, praising his actions as exemplary of China's youth. "He Baijun represents the very best of our new generation—responsible, compassionate, and humble," said a police spokesperson.
The incident has drawn widespread attention on Chinese social media, with many netizens applauding the student's selfless act. University officials stated they plan to honor He Baijun during the new semester as a model for other students.
