Nicknamed "Baguang's Eye," the Dapeng Sports Center in Dapeng New Area's Baguang area resembles a giant ark resting by the sea. The new landmark comprises a cultural center, a sports center, and Baguang Central Park, all interconnected by canyon‑style corridors. Viewed from above, the entire structure resembles a pair of eyes gazing at the ocean.
Currently, only the badminton courts at the venue are open to the public. The swimming pool and basketball courts are not yet accessible.
Once fully operational, the cultural center will feature a 1,200‑seat grand theater equipped with a lift stage and immersive audio, a 406‑seat black‑box theater, a library with a collection of 300,000 books, and an exhibition and event space. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows throughout the venue face Baguang Bay.
Facing the cultural center across the park, the sports center boasts a sleek, sail‑like silhouette. Just about 20 meters from the bay's seawall, this all‑steel structure features a curved grid skeleton that mimics flowing waves.

The building is clad in a double-layer curtain wall.
With a total floor area of 29,500 square meters, the venue on the Dapeng Peninsula has three levels above ground and one basement level, housing a comprehensive competition hall, a training hall, and a swimming pool. The sports center is seamlessly connected to Baguang Central Park.
The swimming pool—currently not open to the public—is set in a sunken space on the ground floor and features eight standard 50‑meter lanes.
On the ground floor, there are eight standard badminton courts, currently open to the public free of charge. The basketball hall, located on the second and third floors, provides approximately 2,200 spectator seats. The venue is also equipped with accessible ramps throughout.
A blue running track wraps around the building, with an outer loop of approximately 650 meters and an inner loop of about 400 meters, extending outdoors on the second floor to integrate seamlessly with the coastal landscape.
To the left and right of the sports center are Baishawan Park and a streamside camping area. Before or after exercise, visitors can cool off in the water or set up camp outdoors. The surrounding area is also perfect for cycling, hiking, beachcombing, fishing, surfing, and diving.
Dapeng Peninsula, one of China's first high‑quality outdoor sports destinations, boasts 125 kilometers of coastline, 48 beaches, and a forest coverage rate of 77%. The area has developed more than 400 kilometers of outdoor routes, including hiking trails and coastal cycling paths, drawing outdoor sports enthusiasts year‑round.

The sports center is seamlessly connected to Baguang Central Park.
