With the victory against Team Zhejiang on November 8, Guangdong's basketball team secured the 1st place of group Ⅱ and promoted to the quarterfinal with 3 consecutive victories.
Since the team has four China's National Team players Zhao Rui, Hu Mingxuan, Xu Jie and Du Ruiwang and experienced players Zhou Peng and Ren Junfei, Guangdong is considered one of the favorites of the basketball event of the China's 15th National Games.
As the biggest challenger for Team Guangdong in the group, Team Zhejiang has three players of China's National Team, including Wu Qian, Zhu Junlong, Cheng Shuaipeng and Yu Jiahao. Same with Team Guangdong, Team Zhejiang also achieved two consecutive victories before the match.
Guangdong took control of the game at the early stage. With Shen Zijie's dunk, Guangdong led by more than 20 points in the 1st half. Although Yu and Wang Yibo have got 33 points for Zhejiang, Guangdong sealed the game with 93:65 in the 4th quarter.
Four players from Guangdong have scored in double figures. Hu Mingxuan and Xu Jie both got 14 points, the highest of Team Guangdong.
The draw of the quarterfinal will be held on November 9.
