Guangdong swimmer Li Jiaping was part of China's relay squad in the heats, helping the team advance to the final and secure Guangdong's first gold medal of the Games.

Li and teammates Fan Yaqi, Liu Yaxin and Li Bingjie topped the morning heats in 3:37.70 to qualify for the final. In the final, Yu Yiting, Zhang Yufei, Cheng Yujie and Wu Qingfeng represented China and won gold with a new Games record.
Li will also compete in the women's 200m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relay at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Born in Sihui, Zhaoqing, Li Jiaping began swimming at the age of seven and joined the Guangdong provincial swimming team in 2020. At the 19th Asian Games, she won gold in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay.
