The Kunpeng Cup · 2026 National Beautiful and Harmonious Village Basketball Tournament (Village BA) Guangdong Provincial Competition kicked off at the Cultural and Sports Park of Yun'an District, Yunfu, on the evening of August 2.
A total of 345 athletes, drawn from 23 teams across 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong, gathered in Yun'an. Over the 8-day tournament, they will compete in 62 matches to qualify for the national finals.
The opening parade introduced an innovative showcase formation featuring signature agricultural products from all counties and districts across Yunfu. This simple presentation demonstrated the industrial achievements of Yunfu—one of China's first national model cities for agricultural product quality and safety—and highlighted the rural-rooted essence of the Village BA event.
