The 2026 Hengqin Marathon is scheduled to take place on December 27 in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Registration will close at 10:00 p.m. on September 12.

Organizers have confirmed that this year's race will once again feature the island-loop course that proved highly popular with runners in previous editions. The route guides participants past landmarks such as the Central Park of the Hengqin Financial Island, Hengqin Port, the Hengqin campus of the University of Macau, the Wetland Park and the Flower Sea Corridor. Along the way, runners can enjoy panoramic views of Macao's cityscape across the water, experiencing the coastal beauty and modern vitality of Hengqin.
The event has been expanded to accommodate 20,000 participants, with 5,000 spots for the full marathon and 15,000 for the half marathon. Upgrades have been introduced across three broad areas, namely increased incentives, enhanced hospitality and refined services. These improvements cover prize money, race kits, runner support and medal design, all aimed at delivering a more thoughtful, comfortable and memorable experience.
The total prize purse has been raised to more than 2.3 times that of the previous edition, jumping from 117,600 yuan to 275,600 yuan. The full marathon champion will now receive 30,000 yuan, up from 10,000 yuan, while the half marathon winner's prize has been increased from 5,000 yuan to 15,000 yuan.

This year's finisher medal continues the marathon's classic design language inspired by the lotus flower and the symbiosis between Hengqin and Macao. It features a blooming lotus that rotates at the touch of a finger. The new dual-layer rotating mechanism adds an innovative twist, taking this cherished tradition to a fresh and more interactive level.
