To prepare for the Asian Beach Games, the Chinese National Beach Handball Team has recently started a one-and-a-half-month closed training camp in Zhanjiang. The team has been training on the beach at the Zhanjiang Olympic Sports Center since March 5.

According to Li Changhai, advisor to the national team, Zhanjiang's warm climate allows athletes from northern China to train more comfortably. Backed by the standardized professional training support and accommodation facilities of the Zhanjiang Water Sports School under the General Administration of Sport of China, the team enjoys systematic preparation.

Notably, the Hungarian men's national beach handball team will arrive in Zhanjiang in early April for a week-long joint training session and planned friendly matches with China. Li noted that China currently lacks professional domestic beach handball teams; training with Hungary will help Chinese players adapt to the international competition pace and refine tactical coordination.

Regarding the goals for the Asian Beach Games, Li stated that China's women's beach handball team has won the Asian Beach Games title three times. The team will go all out to challenge for the championship in this training cycle.
