The 2025 Hengqin Life Hengqin Marathon will fire the starting gun at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, at Central Park on Hengqin Financial Island, located in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone. Registration is open from September 26 to October 8.
This year's race categories are Marathon (4,000 runners), Half Marathon (12,000 runners), and Fun Run (4,000 runners). Registration fees are 200 yuan per person for the Marathon and Half Marathon, and 80 yuan per person for the Fun Run. Runners can register online via the official website (www.hengqinmarathon.com) or through the official WeChat accounts "Hengqin Marathon (横琴马拉松)," "Huafatiyu (华发体育)," and "Nanguangwenchuang (南光文创)." The lottery results are expected to be announced in mid-October, with notifications sent via SMS.
Since its debut in 2018, the Hengqin Marathon has been held six times, attracting over 80,000 participants. This year, the event will once again feature the classic island route. Runners will set off from Central Park on Hengqin Financial Island, passing landmarks such as Hengqin Port, the University of Macau Hengqin Campus, Dahengqin Mountain, Xiaohengqin Mountain, Hengqin International Tennis Center, Tianmu Qintai, Hengqin Culture & Art Complex, Mangzhou Wetland Park, and the Flower Corridor, while also enjoying views of Macao's iconic Macau Tower across the river.
This year's event further highlights the cross-border cooperation between Hengqin and Macao. Special bib pickup zones and shuttle bus services will be provided in Macao. Cultural and sports institutions in Macao will present cultural performances along the course, as well as at the start and finish areas. After the race, a festival zone will offer local delicacies from both Hengqin and Macao, allowing runners to taste the fusion of the two regions.
