On June 10, the APBA Pickleball Open Grand Finals—FJAKA Homeland Cup Individual Event and Team Event officially kicked off at the FJAKA Homeland·Ruiling Pickleball International Center (乐宜里·锐翎国际匹克球赛事中心) in Lishui Town, Nanhai district, Foshan.
The five-day tournament ranks among Asia's top international pickleball events in terms of prize money and participation, and is being held in Lishui for the first time.
This year's event has set a new Asian record for total prize money. More than 1,000 athletes from 11 countries and regions, including China, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, and the Netherlands, are taking part in the competition. The geographically and culturally diverse field has turned pickleball into a bridge of friendship linking the Asia-Pacific region with the wider world.
