Lishui Town in Foshan to host APBA World Series Finals in June

The Asia Pacific Pickleball Alliance (APBA) has announced that the 2025-2026 Season World Finals will land in Lishui Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, this June.

Known as a hybrid of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, pickleball has taken the world by storm for its accessibility. It is widely praised as a "family-friendly sport" that is easy on the knees and suitable for all ages.

The upcoming finals are highly anticipated. Boasting a massive total prize pool of 2.29 million yuan, the tournament is expected to attract top-tier athletes and enthusiasts from over 20 countries and regions. This marks a significant milestone: it is the first time a premier international trend-setting sports event will be hosted by a core town within the Greater Bay Area, signalling a shift in global sports focus toward grassroots communities.

The event is structured to maximise participation. Beyond the professional elite, the APBA Finals feature diverse categories, ensuring that the spirit of "sports for all" resonates throughout the venue.

According to the official schedule, the APBA "Le Yili Cup" Club Individual Event Grand Finals will take place from June 10 to 14, followed by the U-Series Grand Finals from July 23 to 26, both in Lishui Town.

Leveraging the existing facilities of the "Le Yili" Bay Area International Outdoor Sports Zone, Nanhai aims to blend high-stakes competition with local Lingnan culture. The district plans to launch a "Sports + Tourism" initiative, offering competitors and spectators exclusive access to local delicacies and scenic spots, transforming the tournament into a vibrant summer carnival.
