Athletics events of 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities kick off in Guangdong

The athletics competition of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities officially commences on December 9 at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center Stadium, running until December 14.

In preparation for the Games, the stadium has undergone significant accessibility upgrades. Drawing inspiration from indoor accessible pathways and tactile map systems used in Hong Kong and Macao, the venue has installed indoor tactile paving to guide visitors with visual impairments, enabling them to navigate the stadium independently and experience the excitement of the competitions.

Furthermore, with over 400 wheelchair-accessible seats, exceeding Olympic standards, the facility ensures comprehensive inclusion. These enhancements represent a landmark achievement in the "soft connectivity" of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, showcasing a commitment to a barrier-free environment.

Ticket sales for the athletics events opened to the public on December 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Both domestic and international audiences can purchase tickets through the official ticketing website, the official ticketing mini-program, authorized online agents, or designated offline sales outlets. Stadium box offices will also begin operations two days prior to each event for on-site sales and paper ticket collection for e-ticket holders.

Adopting a flexible "Day Pass" system, tickets are priced at just five yuan. This pass allows two entries per day with open seating, making it convenient and affordable for the public to enjoy the competitions.
