For the first time, the race route will pass through the heart of Jieyang Ancient City. Starting at Chaoqiao Fang (潮侨坊), runners will pass Nanpu Yuge Square (南浦渔歌广场), the arcade-lined Zhongshan Road (中山路骑楼街), Jincheng Park (禁城公园), Jieyang Confucius Temple (揭阳学宫) and Jinxian Gate (进贤门) before finishing south of Jieyang Tower (揭阳楼). The route offers runners a chance to explore the ancient city's historic landmarks on foot.

Jieyang Ancient City was a key filming location for the hit movie Dear You and holds special significance for many overseas Chinese with roots in the Chaoshan region. As the historic district undergoes revitalization, it has attracted growing interest from visitors at home and abroad. During this year's National Day holiday, it recorded 1.71 million visits, up 149 percent year on year.

The race will also showcase Jieyang's intangible cultural heritage, with performances featuring Yingge Dance, Green Lion Dance and Teochew Opera, alongside displays of Qiaopi—traditional letters and remittances sent by overseas Chinese. Local food stalls and specialty food zones along the route and at the finish line will give runners a taste of Jieyang's cuisine while they enjoy the cultural festivities.
