Recently, the first stop of the 2026 China Mountain Bike Open (Xinyi Station) and the first stop of the 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area City Cycling Challenge (Xinyi Station) successfully concluded in Xinyi, Maoming, Guangdong. The events attracted nearly 4,600 cyclists and enthusiasts from home and abroad.

On March 7, the Mountain Bike Open kicked off first at Silver Rock Sky Lake (银岩天池) in Qianpai Town, attracting about 600 competitors from places like Beijing and Hong Kong. The following day, the City Cycling Challenge took over, with the number of participants swelling to over 4,000, including several foreign cyclists living in China, such as those from the UK. Starting from the Xinyi Sports Park, riders covered a challenging 116-kilometer route that wound through new urban landscapes, ecological parks, and ancient towns, allowing them to fully experience the rural-urban transformation driven by Xinyi's new urbanization efforts.

For the second consecutive year hosting national-level professional events and Greater Bay Area brand competitions, Xinyi is leveraging sports as a catalyst to deeply integrate sports, ecology, and cultural tourism. After the race, plans are in place to open the mountain bike course to the public for free, enabling more people to personally experience the joy of cycling amidst lush mountains and clear waters. These high-level events are becoming a new engine to showcase the city's ecological richness and revitalize its county economy.
