On April 9, the 2026 Spring Recruitment Campaign of the "Million Talent Gathering in Guangdong" initiative kicked off in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The first stops included Huazhong University of Science and Technology and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), with follow-up events scheduled at Wuhan University and Wuhan University of Technology on April 10.

Jointly organized by the cities of Huizhou and Dongguan, the campaign brought nearly 1,300 employers from Guangdong Province, offering more than 30,000 job opportunities. The initiative aims to attract young talent to support the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Designed as more than just a job fair, the event featured interactive zones showcasing Guangdong's lifestyle, including food experiences and employment services, aiming to create a more engaging and relaxed job-seeking environment.

"It made the job search feel much more relaxed," said Xu Wenlong, a PhD student at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, after submitting his resume to a Huizhou-based company. "Through conversations with HR, I learned that Huizhou is a very livable city with comprehensive talent support policies." Another PhD candidate, Fu Shanshan, spoke with recruiters from a Huizhou hospital via an online session. "The compensation is attractive, and I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to work there," she said.

According to Huang Sanyuan, director of the Huizhou Talent Exchange Service Center, 361 organizations participated onsite, offering nearly 13,000 positions. Including online channels, more than 530 employers joined the events at the two campuses, providing around 15,000 jobs in total. Among them, 157 employers from Huizhou offered positions across key sectors such as artificial intelligence, electronic information, petrochemical new materials, intelligent manufacturing, and the low-altitude economy. Around 80% of the roles offered annual salaries between 80,000 and 200,000 yuan, mainly targeting candidates with undergraduate and master's degrees, while about 20% targeted high-level talent such as PhD graduates, offering more competitive compensation packages.

As one of the participating cities, Huizhou boasts a strong industrial base and dynamic growth. It is a key node city in GBA and one of Guangdong's major manufacturing hubs, home to companies such as TCL, Desay, and EVE Energy. The city recently inaugurated the Huizhou Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Development Bureau and continues to roll out supportive policies for talent, including housing subsidies, startup support, and streamlined residency procedures.
Job seekers can enjoy free access to tourist attractions and temporary accommodation at designated Talent Stations. High-level professionals are eligible for the Superior Talent Card, which integrates nearly 300 public services, including housing, healthcare, and financial support. A new round of enhanced talent policies is expected to be introduced later this year, further strengthening the city's appeal to skilled professionals.
