The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin held a talent policy seminar on July 3, bringing together more than 700 online and in-person participants from Guangdong and Macao to learn about healthcare benefits, talent incentives, and entrepreneurship support.
The event, the first organized by Hengqin's newly established Talent Development and Social Security Bureau, focused on practical policies for young professionals choosing to live and work in Hengqin.
Officials outlined Zhuhai's multi-tier medical insurance system, including basic medical insurance, critical illness coverage, and supplementary insurance schemes. They also addressed issues frequently raised by Hong Kong and Macao residents, such as medical insurance enrollment and cross-border reimbursement, highlighting measures designed to improve healthcare access for people working across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The seminar also introduced updated talent support policies in Hengqin, including financial assistance for housing, living expenses, and career development. Officials said the latest institutional adjustments are intended to streamline public services and strengthen support for professionals relocating to Hengqin.
The event also featured Ni Jingyun, an entrepreneur in the healthcare technology sector, who shared firsthand experience of commercializing research and building a business in Hengqin. Ni said Hengqin's policy environment and innovation ecosystem have helped bridge the gap between scientific research and industrial application, while encouraging young people to pursue opportunities in the Greater Bay Area's growing health and technology industries.
The talent event was part of Hengqin·Jingcai Talk (横琴·菁彩说), a regular series of policy briefings and networking sessions for young professionals from Guangdong and Macao that has become a platform for policy updates, experience sharing, and professional networking. Organizers said such events are expected to further strengthen Hengqin's appeal as a destination for talent and innovation while supporting closer integration between Hengqin and Macao.
