Global vloggers spotlight ICIF, bringing Chinese culture worldwide

The 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) concluded on May 25 after a five-day run in Shenzhen, underscoring its role as a key platform for global cultural exchange.

To capture the fair through a global lens, South launched a special ICIF video series, inviting foreign influencers to explore the event through three themes: cutting-edge technological innovation, the integration of technology and tradition, and global exchanges in fashion and the arts. The videos gained strong traction on overseas social media platforms.

Tech meets culture at ICIF

This year's ICIF highlighted digital empowerment in the cultural sector and the integration of technology with tradition.

Exhibition highlights included Alibaba's Qwen AI glasses, humanoid robots, and Insta360 panoramic cameras, showcasing the growing strength of China's innovation ecosystem.

Venezuelan vlogger Rafael Saavedra offered overseas viewers an immersive look at the exhibition through first-person videos. "At ICIF, you can visit some of the most innovative companies in one place," he said. "They are already shaping industries worldwide."

Beyond the exhibits, Rafael described Shenzhen as a "city of the future," a sentiment echoed by overseas viewers in comments such as "Welcome to tomorrow."

Polish vlogger Piotr Lukasz Blaszak, who has lived in Shenzhen for years, highlighted how Guangdong is blending technological advancement with cultural heritage.

One overseas viewer commented, "This is what happens when a city actually nails balance: culture and future. Guangdong pacing it."

A global stage for cultural exchange

After more than two decades of development, ICIF has become an important platform for international cultural exchange. This year, the fair also saw the debut of an APEC economy exhibition zone, further expanding its global reach.

Russian vlogger Svetlana Goidenko introduced the fair in a short, lifestyle-focused video, featuring cultural products inspired by the Palace Museum, traditional Chinese tea, Lingnan intangible cultural heritage, international creative brands, and trendy cultural goods.

Her relatable storytelling resonated with overseas audiences, drawing comments such as "Cool" and "Amazing."

South will continue exploring new ways to share China's stories with global audiences, bringing together technological innovation, cultural heritage, and contemporary creativity for the world to discover.
