The 2026 Youth Music Culture The Greater Bay Area (YMCG) officially opened on January 29 and will run through February 12 across Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao.
This 10th edition is led by renowned conductor and YMCG music director Daniel Harding, with mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill among the featured artists. It brings together 102 young musicians from 78 conservatories of music and 21 professional orchestras across the world, performing under the guidance of a mentor team including 17 principal players from world-class orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and Vienna Philharmonic.
Seven concerts, ten masterclasses, and five public lectures will be held during the event. Notably, the music week will visit Macao for the first time this year, with all events there open to the public free of charge.
