Lanterns, music and folk art mark festival season at Foshan's Lingnan Xintiandi

On the evening of September 28, ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival and China's National Day, the "Heritage Now Festival" series of activities kicked off at the newly renamed Lingnan Xintiandi (岭南新天地) in Foshan's Chancheng. Various cultural, commercial, and tourism activities will be held over the next two months, including lantern appreciation, feasting, music enjoyment, craft learning, and shopping at fairs.

"Lantern appreciation" brings together artists from both home and abroad to showcase a variety of personalized light and shadow works. "Music enjoyment" will feature five performances, including Cantonese ancient poetry rock nights, Guangdong intangible cultural heritage folk music, Foshan lion dance parades, and Kung Fu exhibitions.

A variety of Foshan folk artisans will take turns organizing "craft-learning workshops" on weekends in November, allowing families and cultural enthusiasts to experience traditional Foshan paper-cutting, Foshan colored lanterns, Shiwan ceramic art, and more.
