Since late October, silk floss trees across downtown Meizhou have come into full bloom, creating a romantic ocean of pink that rivals the cherry blossoms of spring.

These beautiful flowers can be admired at Binjiang Park and along Meijiang Boulevard, Binfang Boulevard, Kedu Boulevard, Jiaying East Road, Huanshi West Road, and Huanshi North Road, where the trees line the streets and intersections.

A common landscape tree in Meizhou, the silk floss tree features blossoms that are whitish at the center, fading into light pink toward the tips of its five backward-curving petals. At the heart of each bloom, the stamens fuse into a tubular structure that encircles the pistil. The flowering season usually lasts from October to December, with the trees reaching their spectacular peak in November.
