With the Chinese New Year approaching, the peach blossoms in Xiangdong Village, Jiangmen City, are entering their peak sales season. Walking into the peach orchards, one can see farmers busy tending to the flowers, creating a lively and bustling scene.

The history of peach blossom cultivation in Xiangdong Village dates back to the 1970s, with large-scale planting beginning in 1982. After years of careful nurturing by the villagers, the peach blossoms of Xiangdong Village have developed distinctive qualities—vivid colors, long blooming periods, large flowers, abundant stamens, and overlapping petals—that make them stand out in the flower markets of the Pearl River Delta. Every year before the Chinese New Year, flower buyers from Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, and even Hong Kong and Macao flock to the village to select their ideal blooms.

As the Chinese New Year draws near, the peach blossoms are gradually coming into full bloom, marking the golden sales period. This year, prices for peach blossoms have risen compared to last year. Depending on the quality and size, small flowers are generally priced between 80 and 200 yuan each, medium-sized flowers range from 300 to 500 yuan, and large blossoms can fetch over a thousand yuan per plant.
