Heyuan villages featured in 2025 "Beautiful Courtyard" list

Guangdong recently announced the 2025 list of  "Beautiful Courtyard" Featured Villages, selecting 35 villages across the province. Jiapai Village and Hongguang Village represent Heyuan City.

Jiapai Village, Tuocheng Town, Longchuan County (龙川县佗城镇佳派村)

Jiapai Village has 70 courtyards, 50 of which have been developed into "Beautiful Courtyards," covering 71.4% of the village. Residents are actively involved in creating a green and civilized countryside. The village showcases its charm through the "Eight Scenic Spots of Jiapai," including the post station and the old academy, forming an ancient village with park-like courtyards where each turn reveals a new picturesque view.

Hongguang Village, Xiantang Town, Dongyuan County (东源县仙塘镇红光村)

Hongguang Village, also known as Nanyuan Ancient Village (南园古村), preserves well-maintained ancient dwellings, ancestral halls, and academies from the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368―1644) and Qing Dynasty (AD 1644—1911), reflecting its rich cultural heritage. In recent years, the village has revitalized rural life with a performance stage, self-composed village songs, and exhibition halls. Villagers are encouraged to use local materials to craft mini-landscapes and themed courtyards—such as Musical Courtyards and Scholarly Courtyards—blending folk and village song culture, creating a unique fusion of history, art, and community life.
