A hidden ocean-view spot on Nan'ao Island in Shantou

On the northern slopes of Guolao Mountain on Nan'ao Island in Shantou City, at an altitude of 400 meters, lies Houhuayuan Village—a tranquil location that hides a true gem: the "Haikuotiantong" Viewing Platform.

Tucked away deep within a forest with over 90% tree coverage, the viewing platform is often shrouded in drifting mist, overlooking ancient villages and layers of terraced tea gardens that together create a scene of idyllic tranquility—a paradise seemingly untouched by the world.

From the platform, visitors can enjoy a sweeping panoramic view of Shen'ao Bay. Neat rows of fishing rafts stretch across the sea, while wind turbines turn gently on distant hills, forming a magnificent 360-degree vista of mountains and ocean.

As night falls, the fishing lights twinkle on the water like a river of stars, creating a quietly romantic atmosphere. This spot has now become a popular destination for photographers and travelers alike.
