In Yunhe, a village in Guangdong's Xinxing County, the winter fields of Yunfu City are covered with bright yellow rapeseed flowers. This golden landscape on nearly 6.7 hectares of fallow farmland has become a popular destination for visitors from the Pearl River Delta region since late January.
This initiative utilizes farmland between rice harvests and spring planting. Village officials worked with residents to plant hardy, fast-growing rapeseed flowers, which improve soil fertility while creating a striking visual display.
The flower fields are part of a broader experience. Visitors can combine a trip to see the blooms with visits to nearby attractions, such as the Green Mountains & Hot Springs Resort and local farmsteads offering regional cuisine.
