138th Canton Fair launches first domestic sales promotion event for high-quality export products

On October 16, the 138th Canton Fair held its inaugural domestic sales promotion event for high-quality export products, dedicating approximately 3,000 square meters for the first time to this promotion and hosting one matchmaking event for each phase. 

The first event organized 80 domestic buyers and trade service providers, including JD.com, Taotian Group, and others, to be stationed on-site. The event attracted over 100 exhibiting companies for matchmaking, facilitating the integration of domestic and foreign trade and supporting the dual circulation of domestic and international markets.

Factors such as U.S. tariff hikes and the volatile global trade order have put pressure on many companies that export to the U.S. At the Canton Fair, an increasing number of exhibitors are adding domestic sales expansion to their annual plans.

"We've been in foreign trade for over 20 years, but this is the first time we've received an on-site order from a domestic high-end hotel," said Zheng Rong, General Manager of Shenzhen FlyPower Battery Co., Ltd., unable to conceal her excitement. The batteries from her company meet European and U.S. environmental standards and offer significant price advantages, thus attracting cooperation intentions from several high-end hotels.

Multiple platforms are also actively promoting domestic sales. Since April, Yonghui Superstores has connected with over 500 foreign trade enterprises, providing one-stop advice on in-store display, pricing, and specification adaptation. JD.com guided a Zhongshan-based lighting enterprise to add multi-functional scene designs and invested marketing resources, helping it achieve daily sales exceeding 10,000 orders. Freshippo (Hema) collaborated with a Shandong export towel factory, switching to Xinjiang cotton to develop a cool-feel, quick-dry series, resulting in a significant sales increase.

According to the plan, the 138th Canton Fair will utilize the domestic sales matchmaking zone as a platform, supplemented by year-round matchmaking services. By expanding the "circle of friends" for high-quality Guangdong products, more foreign trade enterprises will be able to find new growth opportunities in the domestic market.
